Bio

I live in Nelson, New Zealand, and have for my entire life. In July, I am moving to Surrey, England for a time unknown - possibly for the foreseeable future, but its more than likely I shall return.

I am very picky when it comes to music - I despise Hip Hop/Rap, and I'm not a big fan of country. Other than that, I can tolerate most genres. My favourite type is Rock, in its various guises. Favourite bands include Tool, Pink Floyd, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, and A Perfect Circle.

I intend to continue my studies in 2006 - assuming I return to New Zealand, I am likely to attend Canterbury University to begin a five year double degree: Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts majoring in English.

I am very British. I tend to be very sarcastic and very dry, humour-wise. Of course, in today's modern New Zealand society of canned laughter, people often mistake my humour for seriousness - but despite this, I shall not change.

I am a fan of Speech & Drama and Theatre in general, yet I hold immense amounts of contempt for college drama kids. They think that they are magnificent, and often decide to ACT WACKY to show that they are theatre kids, when the fact is that college drama classes are childishly primitive and babyish. I am a big fan of Shakespeare, and last year was chosen to be a part of the Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand Young Shakespeare Company. The trip to London begins in July, and I've decided to stay after that, because I am a British citizen and because I can.

Yes, I am a straight white male of no religion. Yes, I realise that we are a dying species. Yes, my heart bleeds for us. No, there is probably nothing we can do.

I currently work full time in a packhouse, as well as juggling drama lessons, preparation for my performance at the National Shakespeare Festival in June (playing Iago) and correspondence. I don't get a lot of free time, and that which I get is normally spent sleeping.

I have a bizarre taste in movies: I basically hate all of them. However, I have a soft spot for zombie films, I must admit. Most American films, especially comedies, aggravate me to no end. I despise them.

I watch very little television nowadays - my favourite programs used to be The Office, Operation Good Guys, etc., but they are no longer on. Instead we are treated to high-quality programming such as Friends, Joey, Shortland Street, The L Word, Miss Popularity, The O.C., Top of the Pops, etc. So wonder no more why I don't watch television.

My favourite internet sites include Progressive-Boink, Trademe and Spamusement. Anything else is for babies.
